Kory Williams Named ABCA Second Team All-East Region

Senior pitcher Kory Williams (Pennsauken, NJ), who played a major role in Goldey-Beacom's Baseball team appearing in the NCAA Tournament a fourth straight year, today was picked second team All-East Region by the American Baseball Coaches Association.

Williams this season also was named first team All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference.

Williams was one of the area's most dominant pitchers, constantly giving the Lightning reliability on the bump. He enjoyed a three-game winning streak earlier this year, tossed at least eight innings three times and struck out 12 on March 31 vs. Lincoln (PA).

He closed the season first in the CACC with 81 2/3 innings, tied for first with seven wins, second with 81 strikeouts, fourth with a 3.64 ERA and fifth with a .242 batting average against. Williams' victories this year are tied for first in team history, his strikeouts are first and his innings are tied for first.

Goldey-Beacom (33-24) this season played in the NCAA Tournament for the fifth time in program history. It competed in the CACC final for the first time, was nationally ranked for the fourth time in the last five years, played in the CACC Tournament a sixth straight year and recorded an 11-game winning streak.
