Goldey-Beacom Sees Three Cited for CACC Weekly Honors

Goldey-Beacom this week saw infielder Shawn Roy (New Castle, DE) named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Baseball Rookie of the Week, senior Connor Blence (Downingtown, PA) picked to the sport's Weekly Honor Roll and freshman outfielder Ayri Hansen (Lakewood, CA) selected to Softball's Weekly Honor Roll.

Roy batted .500 (8-for-16) on the week with two doubles, five RBI and five stolen bases. He had three hits, a double, an RBI and three stolen bases Tuesday against Lincoln, two hits and a double in game one Friday vs. Georgian Court and three hits to go with four RBI on Saturday at Georgian Court.

Pressed into immediate service, Roy in those six games has answered the bell with a hit in four. He is batting .409 in his 22 at-bats on the season.

One week after being picked CACC Pitcher of the Week, Blence struck out nine over six innings and allowed no earned runs Friday against Georgian Court.

Blence has been outstanding over his last four outings, notching a 3-0 record with 30 strikeouts over 25 2/3 innings and just two earned runs allowed.

Hansen batted .417 (5-for-12) on the week with a double, a triple and four RBI. She had a two-run triple Saturday in game one vs. Bowie State and rapped two hits in the nightcap.

Hansen has made an immediate impact for the Lightning with a team-best 26 hits. She also is on a six-game hitting streak. She is one of four for the squad to play in all 26 contests this season.
