Connor Blence Named CACC Baseball Pitcher of the Week

Goldey-Beacom senior Connor Blence (Downingtown, PA) tossed a masterpiece last week and was tabbed the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week.

Blence was outstanding Saturday at Bridgeport, pitching a five-hit shutout with a career-best 10 strikeouts in Goldey-Beacom's 8-0 victory.

Blence's first career shutout was not his only impressive performance. He had eight strikeouts March 14 at Caldwell over six innings and overall has a 3.00 ERA.

Last season, Blence struck out seven over nine innings at Wilmington in the CACC Tournament. He then was called upon to pitch against Jefferson in Goldey-Beacom's second game of the NCAA Tournament.

Goldey-Beacom (18-11, 11-3 CACC) is sixth in the latest National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) East Region Poll.

GBC on Tuesday hosts Lincoln (PA) at 2:00 pm.
