Men’s Soccer Picked to Close Eighth in the CACC

8/18/2025 12:00:00 AM

Goldey-Beacom was picked to make the Central Atlantic Collegiate Tournament a third consecutive year as it was tabbed eighth in the league's preseason poll, based on a vote of the league's coaches.

Senior midfielder Derrick Muhire (Kigali, Rwanda) is back after battling numerous injuries, winning last year's Brian Conley Award as the Goldey-Beacom student who best displays courage, determination and perseverance.  He played 18 games a season ago with 13 starts, ending with a goal and an assist.

Sophomore midfielder Sam Ball (Salisbury, MD) had a phenomenal debut campaign, competing in 14 games with three starts and being named the league's Rookie of the Week midway through the year.

Junior Edrick Mugisha (Kigali, Rwanda) also is back, looking to strengthen the midfield after playing 16 games a season ago with six starts.

Goldey-Beacom (7-12, 6-5 CACC) ended the regular season with victories in four of its last six contests to clinch a second consecutive trip to the CACC Tournament.  The team saw newcomers account for three of the squad's top four point totals on the year, including its top two goal scorers.

Goldey-Beacom opens its season September 4 at Pace, beginning at 3:30 pm.
