Softball and Baseball Squads Combine for 19 on the CACC All-Academic Team

Goldey-Beacom's softball and baseball teams, both participants in the NCAA Tournament, placed a combined 19 student-athletes on the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference All-Academic Team.
 
The 10 honored from the softball team include seniors Bryn Bohmann (Saskatoon, SK), Devon Ellixson (Mullica Hill, NJ), Davi Jimenez (Vineland, NJ), Alex Lowry (Wenonah, NJ) and Morgan McLane (Clayton, DE), juniors Alesia Doctor (Rising Sun, MD), Emma Friel (Coatesville, PA), Delaney Insinga (Southampton, PA) and Rayna Pelcak (Laurel Springs, NJ) along with sophomore McKenna Frank (Oxford, PA).
 
The nine for the baseball squad include seniors Gage Bendix (Piscataway, NJ), Matt Benner (Souderton, PA), Nick Harkins (Newark, DE) and Braden Kolmansberger (Lewisberry, PA), juniors Anthony Charles (Mullica Hill, NJ), Kevin Dillon (Mount Bethel, PA) and Tommy Federici (Swoyersville, PA) along with sophomores Sam Juckett (Maple Shade, NJ) and Owen Knerr (Ocean City, MD).
 
Bohmann was picked second team All-CACC each of her two seasons and graduates as one of the program's best hitters, sitting second in team history with 12 home runs, tied for third with 96 RBI and seventh with 36 doubles.  McLane was a dominant pitcher over four years and this season was picked second team all-league, graduating first in team history with 288 strikeouts, 36 wins and six saves.  Frank continued to be one of the area's best hitters and all-around players, ending this season 42nd in the nation with 17 doubles and 83rd with 69 hits.
 
Kolmansberger, the 2024 CACC Player of the Year, leaves as one of the area's preeminent competitors and graduates first in team history with 151 RBI, first with 56 doubles, first with 10 triples, second with 212 hits and fourth with 20 home runs.  Charles was named second team All-CACC and ABCA All-East Region, giving the Lightning strong play in right field with 11 home runs, 66 hits and 46 RBI.  Dillon remains a key out of the bullpen and enters his senior campaign tied for third in team history with 13 wins and ninth with 98 strikeouts.
 
The softball team (40-16, 16-6 CACC) this season provided history, pride and memories that will live for many years.  The squad notched the most single-season victories for any team in the Athletic Department's 35-year history, became the first GBC program to host an NCAA Tournament event on the Pike Creek campus and played in the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history.
 
The Lightning also made the CACC Tournament in three consecutive seasons for the first time in 19 years and won multiple games in said tournament in back-to-back seasons for the first time.
 
The baseball unit (34-21, 23-11 CACC), only in its ninth season since the program's reinstatement, made the NCAA Tournament a fourth time with all coming in the last five years.  It was nationally ranked for the third time in the last four campaigns, regionally ranked all season in reaching number one and made the CACC Tournament a fifth straight year.
 
The Lightning recorded a school-record 15-game winning streak, a team-best 23 conference wins, tied the school record with 20 home wins and started a team-best 12-0 in the CACC, making it 14 straight league triumphs dating to last season.
