5/29/2025 12:00:00 AM

Goldey-Beacom junior outfielder Anthony Charles (Mullica Hill, NJ) has been second team All-East Region by the American Baseball Coaches Association.

This comes after he was picked second team All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference along with teammates Jaden Dickerson (New Castle, DE) and senior Mikey Hawbaker (Hagerstown, MD).

Charles is a productive hitter who has been a mainstay in the lineup, primarily in right field.  Five times this season he notched at least three hits in a contest, including a season-best 4-for-4 showing with five RBI on April 10 vs. Bloomfield.

He is tied for second in the CACC with 11 home runs, 11th with 66 hits, tied for 12th with 46 RBI, 15th with 12 doubles and 22nd with a .353 batting average.  Charles' home runs are tied for third on the Lightning's single-season list, his batting average is fifth, his hits are seventh and his RBI are tied for ninth.

Charles enters his senior year first in team history with a .334 batting average, second with 70 stolen bases, fourth with six triples, fifth with 17 home runs and ninth with 122 hits.

Goldey-Beacom (34-21, 23-11 CACC), only in its ninth season since the program's reinstatement, made the NCAA Tournament a fourth time with all coming in the last five years.  It was nationally ranked for the third time in the last four campaigns, regionally ranked all season in reaching number one and made the CACC Tournament a fifth straight year.

The Lightning recorded a school-record 15-game winning streak, a team-best 23 conference wins, tied the school record with 20 home wins and started a team-best 12-0 in the CACC, making it 14 straight league triumphs dating to last season.
