Julia Kulesza and Zakari McQueen Each Named Second Team All-CACC

3/4/2025 12:00:00 AM

Goldey-Beacom senior guard Julie Kulesza (Wilmington, DE) and sophomore guard Zakari McQueen (Petersburg, VA), both of whom have been explosive offensive players, each were named second team All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference for their respective basketball squad.

Kulesza arrived after playing her first three seasons at Bucknell and was a major catalyst for the Lightning.  A scoring dynamo who also is one of the squad's best teammates, Kulesza provided the firepower at guard to put Goldey-Beacom back in the CACC Tournament.

Kulesza enters the week seventh in the league with 15.1 points per game, seconds with an .842 free throw percentage, fifth with a 1.3 assist-to-turnover ratio, seventh with 3.2 assists per contest and 14th with a .420 field goal percentage.

She also enters the week with 422 points, just 18 outside the school's single-season top 10 list.  This included a season-best 31 points December 18 at Saint Thomas Aquinas and 30 on February 22 in Goldey-Beacom's upset of No. 20 Holy Family.

McQueen also showed plenty of ability to light up the scoreboard, providing offense to a team already known for putting up big numbers.  He became one of the Lightning's go-to players on a squad always showing a bountiful amount of such.

McQueen enters the week first in the league by a wide margin with 91 three-pointers, 10th with 14.9 points per game, seventh with an .826 free throw percentage and seventh with a .384 three-point percentage.

His 91 three-pointers are second on the program's single-season list and his 128 career are eighth in team annals.

The women's team, thanks to the aforementioned game against Holy Family, clinched fourth place in the CACC South Division and closed the regular season with a three-game winning streak.  It also marked the first time in a decade the Lightning advanced to the CACC Tournament in consecutive years.

The men's squad closed third in the CACC and is in the conference tournament for the seventh time in its last eight competitive seasons.  The unit has notched double-digit league wins in six of those campaigns.
