1/26/2026 12:00:00 AM

Goldey-Beacom sophomore guard Tre Powell (Mount Laurel, NJ), five times this season picked to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Weekly Honor Roll, today was named the league's Men's Basketball Player of the Week.

Powell averaged 25.0 points on 16-of-31 shooting with 12 rebounds, eight rebounds, eight assists, six 3-pointers and six steals.  He poured in a career-best 32 points on 11-of-18 shooting with five 3-pointers, four rebounds and four steals in Goldey-Beacom's 90-78 victory over Caldwell.  Powell also had 18 points and eight rebounds Tuesday in his squad's 98-87 win over Holy Family.

One of the area's most electrifying players, Powell has dazzled many with his intense play and ability to drive to the goal at will.  He is 53rd in the country with 4.6 assists per contest, 73rd with 18.3 points per game and third in the CACC in both categories.

Powell has scored at least 20 points seven times this season and is averaging 21.4 points over his last five games.

Goldey-Beacom (13-6, 7-4 CACC) is tied for second place in the CACC with Post (7-4) and both are one game ahead of Bridgeport (6-5).  The top four teams in the league will have a home game in the CACC quarterfinals.

Goldey-Beacom on Wednesday is at Chestnut Hill for an 8:00 pm contest.  The women's game between the same schools begins at 6:00 pm.
