Goldey-Beacom (21-11, 13-7 CACC) for many years had been knocking on the postseason door and last March finally left splinters everywhere.  GBC broke the school record for most victories in a season, played in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference final for a fourth time, went on an eight-game winning streak from January 6-February 3 and were on a four-game winning streak going into the conference final.

It was the third postseason appearance in program history and second in the NCAA era.  Goldey-Beacom won the 2007 ECAC championship and competed in the 1999 NAIA Region 10 quarterfinals.

Among the standout players this season was sophomore guard Tre Powell (Mount Laurel, NJ), who was picked had been named second team All-East Region both by D2CCA and the National Association of Basketball Coaches, first team All-CACC and to the CACC All-Tournament Team.

He amazed all season with his incredible shooting touch, quickness in driving to the goal and tenacity in clutch situations.  Powell scored at least 20 points on 12 occasions this season, including a career-best 33 points March 3 in Goldey-Beacom's 88-87 victory over Georgian Court in the CACC Tournament quarterfinals.

Also highlighting the team was junior forward Emarquis Jones (Brooklyn, NY), named third team All-CACC and to the league's all-tournament team.  An immensely gifted athlete who is a major factor on both ends of the floor, he earned a spot on the all-tournament team after averaging 19.0 points and 9.0 rebounds over three games.

Dekmar, in his 10th season as head coach after serving as an assistant during the 2015-16 campaign, showed early signs of success that were recognized outside the Pike Creek campus.  Dekmar in 2017 was listed among the NABC 30-Under-30, highlighting head coaches and assistants of all divisions under age 30.

In his nine competitive seasons, Dekmar has led GBC to the CACC Tournament seven times with three trips to the semifinals, this year's trip to the final and the 2018 CACC South Division title. He has 151 victories during his time and has notched a winning record in league play on seven occasions.

Dekmar also was head coach of Goldey-Beacom's men's golf team, winning three straight CACC titles (2022-24).  Twice he was picked CACC Coach of the Year (2024-25).  GBC went to the NCAA Regional as a team three consecutive seasons (2023-25) and coached a combined 14 all-conference players over his four years (2022-26).

Dekmar played four seasons at Pitt-Bradford, where he led the squad to two Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference finals and two ECAC Tournament appearances.
