Goldey-Beacom Places Two on the CACC Weekly Honor Roll

Goldey-Beacom saw two more student-athletes make the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Weekly Honor Roll with senior Caitlyn Burch (Mechanicsville, MD) honored for Volleyball and junior Emanuel Bustos (Miami, FL) chosen for Men's Soccer.

Burch closed with 37 kills, a .367 hitting percentage, 14 blocks and 11 digs over three matches. She notched 17 kills, a .412 percentage, seven digs and six blocks Saturday in Goldey-Beacom's 3-1 victory over Millersville. This came after Burch got 13 kills and a .385 percentage earlier in the day versus West Chester.

It has been an exceptional start to the season for the standout middle hitter who has exceled in the program's resurgence. She is 21st in the country with 181 kills, 21st with a .403 hitting percentage and 50th with 51 blocks. All of those lead the CACC.

Burch also has recorded at least 15 kills four times, including 19 on September 13 at Bowie State.

Bustos closed with a goal and an assist Tuesday in Goldey-Beacom's 3-0 victory over Chestnut Hill.

Off to another strong start for a club looking to get back into the CACC Tournament, Bustos paces the Lightning with three goals and seven points.

The Volleyball squad is home Wednesday against Georgian Court, beginning at 7:00 pm. The Men's Soccer team on Thursday visits Washington Adventist for a noon contest.
