Volleyball Handed 3-0 Setback at Jefferson

Goldey-Beacom looked to move up the standings in a key Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference South Division match, but was dealt a 3-0 loss (18-25, 24-26, 22-25) by Jefferson in East Falls, PA.

Jefferson in the opening set got five kills from Alexa Mork and 16 as a team to grab the opening set.  Lyllah Sapp amassed 13 assists in that span.

The Lightning came out flying in the second set with a 12-5 lead, but the Rams ended things on a 21-12 run to open a two-set cushion.  Mork recorded four kills in that spurt as Jefferson overcame nine errors and a .118 attack percentage overall in the set.

The third set was close throughout and was up for grabs late with things knotted at 20.  However, the Rams closed on a 5-2 run in a set they recorded 14 kills and limited the Lightning to a .088 percentage.

Brianna Anderson (Mesa, AZ) notched 16 digs, fellow junior Juliana Malena (Miami, FL) recorded 13 assists and sophomore Kelci Gingras (Orem, UT) added eight kills for Goldey-Beacom (13-6, 5-3 CACC).  Ork and Pemi Areola had 10 kills apiece with Sapp adding 31 assists for Jefferson (16-5, 7-1).

Goldey-Beacom is home Saturday against Felician for a noon match.
