Goldey-Beacom had a tough loss against Akron, dropping the match 2-0. Akron is the sixth seed in the NACE Valorant Premier and are the favorites to get the number one spot in GBC's league.
After winning the pistol round and getting an advantage on the Sunset map, the Lightning lost their momentum after round round and couldn't break Akron's surge afterwards.
Freshman Jose "Byralz" Vega Torres had the most kills for Goldey-Beacom on the first map, Sunset, with 12. He also added two first bloods (opening kills) on this map. Freshmen Ryan Carrico added 12 kills on the second map, Icebox, and Caleb "Hatch" Visinsky finished with four first bloods (opening kills) on the second map.
The next match will be played September 25 at 7:00 pm against Lesley, in the new Goldey-Beacom's Esports arena.
