10/3/2024 12:00:00 AM

Goldey-Beacom Esports was unable to comeback against Florida Tech in Valorant and was handed a 2-0 loss.

The Lightning started off on the defensive side on the map Bind and started with a 5-2 lead, but could not stop Florida Tech's momentum and ended up losing 13-9 on the first map.

GBC was down 9-3 after the first half on the second map, Abyss, and almost managed a great comeback, but was unable to find their rhythm and lost 13-9 on the second map.

David "Toon3rd" Hale (Plainfield, Ill.)  had a strong showing on the first map, Bind, with 22 kills and 2 first bloods and Ryan "Ryan" Carrico (Middletown, DE) led the first blood counter for GBC with a total of 4. Carrico also had a great performance on the second map, Abyss, with 25 kills and 5 first bloods giving him match MVP.

Goldey-Beacom competes again in Valorant on Wednesday at 7pm.
