10/28/2024 12:00:00 AM

A 3-0 week for Goldey-Beacom Volleyball as part of a four-match winning streak saw Ada Koksal (Istanbul, Turkiye) named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week and senior Piper Nanouski (Chicago, IL) tabbed to the sport's Weekly Honor Roll.

Koksal dished 104 assists over three matches.  She had 42 on Tuesday in her squad's huge 3-2 victory over Chestnut Hill, 29 on Thursday against Lincoln (PA) and 33 on Saturday at Caldwell.

A tremendous addition to a program soaring to heights it has not seen in a long time, Koksal has played a massive role on offense.  She has dished at least 40 assists on seven occasions and has helped the squad win five of their last seven contests.

Koksal is second in the league with 738 assists, which already has her eighth in team history and seventh on the school's single-season list.  She also is fourth in the league with 8.89 assists per set.

Nanouski ended the week with 47 kills, 14 digs and two blocks over three matches.  She matched her career high with 22 kills in her team's huge 3-2 victory Tuesday over Chestnut Hill, recorded 11 on Thursday vs. Lincoln (PA) and added 14 on Saturday at Caldwell.

A solid player at outside hitter who has given the team stability at the net, Nanouski has seen the maturity of the program over the last four years and is a major part of its ascent.

She is sixth in team history with 871 kills and this season has a career-best 285 kills, which places her second in the league.

Goldey-Beacom (12-11, 5-5 CACC) is fourth in the CACC South Division, one-half match ahead of Jefferson (4-5) for the division's final conference-tournament spot.  It trails Chestnut Hill (7-4) by 1 1/2 matches for second place, which clinches a home match in the conference quarterfinals.

Goldey-Beacom on Wednesday visits Holy Family for a 6:00 pm match.
