Kyle Walker Named to CACC Baseball Weekly Honor Roll

Goldey-Beacom junior third baseman Kyle Walker (Wilmington, DE), who has put together yet another exceptionally solid campaign, today was named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Baseball Weekly Honor Roll.
 
Walker batted .500 (10-for-20) on the week with three doubles, a home run and eight RBI.  He had three hits, a double and an RBI on Friday in Goldey-Beacom's 17-4 rout of Jefferson before getting three hits, a home run and three RBI on Sunday in his squad's 11-7 win.
 
Sunday's win was the Lightning's 28th of the season, breaking the school record set last year.  Goldey-Beacom (28-14, 13-6 CACC) is second in the CACC South Division, 1 1/2 games in front of Jefferson (11-7) and two games in back of Wilmington (16-5).
 
Walker has been one of the program's most vital players with exceptional hitting on a consistent basis.  This was witnessed earlier this season when the 2021 second team All-CACC pick went on a school-record 26-game hitting streak, during which he batted .362 (34-of-94) with nine extra-base hits and 22 RBI.
 
One of the most exciting athletes at the College to see play, Walker is second in league with 57 hits, fourth with 37 RBI and 11th with a .358 batting average.  He is first in school history with a .337 career batting average, second with 149 hits, third with 86 RBI, fourth with 26 doubles and tied for fifth with 23 stolen bases.
 
Goldey-Beacom on Tuesday opens a big three-game series against Chestnut Hill.  First pitch at Doyle Field in Hockessin is at 2:00 pm.
