Goldey-Beacom Places Two on the CACC Weekly Honor Roll

A busy week in Goldey-Beacom Athletics saw two awards presented by the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference with Nicole Makin (Edgewater Park, NJ) picked to the Softball Weekly Honor Roll and fellow sophomore Kyle Walker (Wilmington, DE) named to the Baseball Weekly Honor Roll.
 
Makin continued her strong start to the year by batting .438 (7-for-16) over five games with a double and three RBI.  She went 3-for-3 in her squad's 10-1 victory Wednesday over Malone, rapped two hits Monday against Keiser and recorded a two-run double Monday vs. Madonna. 
 
Establishing her place in the lineup as the everyday center fielder, Makin has a hit in eight of the 10 contests she has played this season and leads the squad with 15 hits.  She made the Weekly Honor Roll in the pandemic-shortened 2020 campaign before getting 12 starts and making the league's Academic Honor roll last season.
 
Walker ended his week batting .556 (5-for-9) with a double and an RBI.  He had two hits Tuesday at Molloy and three Friday in a doubleheader split against Frostburg State that included two in game one, helping Goldey-Beacom rally for a 5-4 triumph.
 
Walker a season ago was picked second team All-CACC, ending 15th in the league with 35 hits, 20th with 24 RBI and 32nd with a .330 batting average.  He has 11 hits in the young campaign, including at least one in four of hist last five contests.
