Goldey-Beacom Gets Three More Selected for CACC Weekly Honors

Goldey-Beacom saw three more of its student-athletes picked for Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Weekly Honors with senior Taylor Owen (Pittsburgh, PA) named Women's Soccer Player of the Week, freshman Lexi Coppola (Turnersville, NJ) selected to the sport's Weekly Honor Roll and junior Eduardo Coimbra (Curitiba, Brazil) tabbed to the Men's Soccer Weekly Honor Roll.
 
Owen scored twice and added two assists in Goldey-Beacom's only game of the week, a 7-1 rout Saturday of Felician.  It was her first career brace and the six points also is a career best.
 
Owen this season has made a splash by sitting 70th in the country with 1.33 points per game, 90th with 0.50 goals per contest and 91st with 16 points (fourth in the CACC).  The three-time member of the CACC Academic Honor Roll ended both in 2018 and 2019 among in the top 20 in the league in assists.
 
Coppola ended with two goals and an assist Saturday.  It was her second brace of the season and first five-point game of her career.
 
Goldey-Beacom (7-6, 5-4 CACC) has won three straight games and five of its last six to sit in fifth place in the CACC.  The top eight teams go to the conference tournament, something the team has accomplished in its last six seasons.
 
Coimbra ended his week with two goals and three assists over two games.  He notched a goal and two assists Saturday against Felician after getting one and one Wednesday in Goldey-Beacom's 5-1 rout of Staten Island.
 
One of the area's most explosive players, Coimbra is third in the league with six assists, seventh with 14 points and 12th with four goals.
