Three for Goldey-Beacom Grab CACC Weekly Awards

Goldey-Beacom saw three of its student-athletes make the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Weekly Honor Roll with senior Amanda McGrogan (Mount Laurel, NJ) gaining an honor for Women's Basketball and both senior Tevin Thomas (Dover, DE) and junior Jake Heskett (Derwood, MD) winning for Baseball.
 
McGrogan averaged 20.0 points on 16-of-29 shooting, 7.0 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals over two games.  She went on an unbelievable tear Saturday with career bests of 32 points and 11 assists along with three steals in Goldey-Beacom's 73-70 triumph at Wilmington.  McGrogan also had eight points and three rebounds Wednesday against Jefferson.
 
She is 58th in the country with 4.3 assists per game, 81st with 102 free throws, 84th with an .823 free throw percentage, eighth in the league with 16.1 points per game and fifth with 100 assists. 
 
McGrogan ends her outstanding career eighth in school history with 1,299 points, third with 343 assists, fourth with 324 free throws, tied for sixth with 103 three-pointers, seventh with 136 steals and eighth with 436 field goals.
 
Thomas batted .300 over four games with a home run and two RBI, all against 10th-ranked Millersville.
 
Heskett struck out five over five solid innings Saturday against Millersville, allowing just a run, three hits and three walks in Goldey-Beacom's 7-1 win.
 
Goldey-Beacom (6-6) for the second straight week has received votes in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association East Region Poll.  This also marks the second straight year Goldey-Beacom upended a ranked team as the squad swept a doubleheader last season versus No. 21 Wilmington (DE).
