Goldey-Beacom returns many quality players and once again will compete against some of the area's best teams as the squad announced its 2020 schedule.

GBC opens the campaign February 15 at Limestone as part of a four-game series and then heads to Fayetteville, NC for four neutral-sites contests.  The Lightning battle Tiffin on February 21, Clarion in a doubleheader the next day and conclude February 23 versus Frostburg State.

The home opener is February 29 in a doubleheader against Millersville, before the teams play a twin-bill in Pennsylvania the next day.  GBC hosts four games against Bloomsburg from March 7-8 and then hosts Le Moyne in a March 11 doubleheader.

The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opener is March 17 at home against Bloomfield.  Its meetings with reigning CACC champion and local rival Wilmington (DE) will be March 25 in New Castle and March 27 at home in Hockessin.

The regular season concludes April 26 with a doubleheader at Caldwell.

The conference for a third straight year will use a two-division format and play 32 games.  GBC is in the South Division along with Wilmington (DE), University of the Sciences, Jefferson, Chestnut Hill and Bloomfield.  It will play each team in two doubleheaders – one at home and one on the road – for a total of 20 games.

The North Division includes Caldwell, Felician, Concordia (NY), Dominican (NY), Nyack and Post.  The Lightning play each of these schools in one doubleheader for a total of 12 contests.

Beginning this year, all regulation league games are seven innings.

The top four teams in each division advance to the CACC Tournament.  The quarterfinals feature a single-elimination game May 2 with each contest at the higher seed.  The four remaining schools play in the double-elimination portion May 7-9 at a site to be determined.

A key player back for the Lightning is senior catcher Ivan Solis (La Chorrera, Panama), who stepped into the spotlight last year and never looked back.  A strong hitter, defensive player and leader, he closed fifth in the CACC with a .485 on-base percentage, 14th with a .356 batting average, 21st with a .500 slugging percentage, 32nd with three home runs and 75th with 20 RBI.

Zach Roseman (Wilmington, DE) is a fourth-year senior who has been one of the most vital components in the brief history of the program.  He gives the infield stability after recording a personal-best .302 batting average and 35 hits last season.  Justin Hill (Seaford, DE), another fourth-year senior who is a great leader, gives the Lightning many intangibles after recording a personal-best .297 batting average and 54 hits a season ago.

Junior Jake Heskett (Derwood, MD) is back on the mound after recording a 2.35 ERA and closing 15th in the league with a .215 batting average against.  Sophomore Anthony DiMartino (Sicklerville, NJ) a season ago started all nine games in which he appeared, ending 28th in the CACC with 38 strikeouts.
