Goldey-Beacom junior forward Line Kristoffersen (Bergen, Norway) and junior midfielder Rose Benjamin (North East, MD) each have put forth yet another stellar campaign that have them worthy of being tabbed CoSIDA Women's Soccer Academic All-District for a second straight year.

Kristoffersen has taken off as one of the area's top forwards, making herself one of the toughest players in the area to contain.  One of the squad's hardest workers, Kristoffersen is fourth in the country with 2.65 points per game, fourth with 45 points, eighth with 17 goals, eighth with 0.65 assists per contest and ninth with 1.00 goals per game.

Kristoffersen is ninth in school history with 20 career goals, tied for eighth with 13 assists, ninth with 53 points, second with 17 single-season goals, tied for first with 11 single-season assists and second with 45 single-season points.

Benjamin again continues to be one of the stalwarts at midfield, helping to be a perfect complement to the Lightning's offense and defense.  Her play on offense has GBC second in the nation with 173 points, second with 55 assists, second with 3.24 assists per game, third with 59 goals and fourth with 10.18 points.

The Lightning also have recorded six shutouts this year and 10 games in which they have not permitted more than one goal.

This honor comes one year after the program had three CoSIDA Academic All-District selections and the department recorded five in the 2018-19 academic year.  The graduated Cliona Crammond was the other honoree for women soccer as she was picked CoSIDA second team Academic All-America, in addition to being named CCA third team All-America.

GBC now boasts 18 CoSIDA Academic All-District honorees in addition to its six CoSIDA Academic All-Americas.  It finished 2018-19 45th out of 308 Division II schools with an 88 percent ranking in the NCAA Academic Success Rate and placed 50 on the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Academic Honor Roll.

Goldey-Beacom (10-5-2, 8-3-1 CACC) this season has clinched a program-record sixth straight berth in the CACC Tournament and a home quarterfinal game for the fourth consecutive year.  The team also has notched a program-record fourth straight season with at least 10 victories.

Goldey-Beacom next Tuesday is home in the CACC Tournament quarterfinals against either Holy Family or Post.  Game time is at 2:00 pm.
