Goldey-Beacom College earned a 7-3 victory over Staten Island on Wednesday afternoon at Nancy Churchman Sawin Field.
The Lightning wasted little time getting on the scoreboard, as senior Miley Jones (Pemberton, NJ) opened the scoring in the third minute off an assist from senior Lexy Yeager (West Deptford, NJ) for her fifth goal of the season. Junior Jessica Jensen (Las Vegas, NV) doubled the lead in the 11th minute with help from Jones and sophomore Lanie Pennington (Smyrna, DE). Yeager added to the Lightning's advantage in the 21st minute, scoring off a pass from junior Tess Pearce (Manchester, England) to give Goldey-Beacom a 3-0 lead heading into halftime.
