Immediato19-1net

Women's Soccer | 11/20/2019 12:00:00 AM

Goldey-Beacom received more deserved hardware with senior Jenna Fannon (Newark, DE) picked first team Conference Commissioner's Association All-East Region for Women's Soccer, sophomore Melayna Immediato (Hockessin, DE) named second team a second straight year and junior Ethan Maguire (Sydney, Australia) tabbed second team All-East Region for Men's Soccer.

There simply are not enough words to describe the play over the last two seasons for Fannon, who this year was picked the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Player of the Year in addition to making the league's All-Tournament Team.  One of the most gifted student-athletes this College has yet produced, Fannon's achievements come one year after she was picked second team All-CACC.

She ends first in school history with 39 career goals, first with 25 single-season goals, first with 57 single-season points, second with 92 career points and tied for seventh with 14 career assists.

Fannon's goals and points both are second best in CACC single-season history.  She leads Division II in goals, points, goals per game at 1.25 and points per game at 2.85 this year.

Immediato in her first two seasons has enjoyed a solid run at forward, which in 2019 helped her to be named first team All-CACC one year after being tabbed second team.  Another great talent who helped take the Lightning to another level, she is 52nd in the nation with seven assists, 78th with 0.35 assists per game, 14th in the league with 17 points and 20th with five goals.

Her 15 career goals and 44 career points have her just outside the program's top 10 list.

Maguire, who was tabbed second team All-CACC, made his presence felt once stepping foot on campus in 2017 and his play is one of the major reasons for the Lightning's recent success.  He is 39th in the country with seven assists and 59th with 0.39 assists per contest.

Maguire in midseason enjoyed a run in which he had a point in six contests during a seven-game stretch.

The women's team (11-7-2, 8-3-1 CACC) again recorded a highly successful campaign in advancing to the CACC semifinals a school-record third straight year, hosting a quarterfinal for a program-best four consecutive year and making the CACC Tournament a team-record sixth straight year.

The men's unit (11-7-1, 8-4) made it back to the CACC Tournament for the fourth time in five seasons and broke the school record with six road triumphs.  It also had a 10-game run in which it did not permit more than one goal in any of those matches.
