Goldey-Beacom senior Jenna Fannon (Newark, DE) and junior Kelly Mejia (State College, PA), each of whom have been immensely vital players for the Women's Soccer squad, each have been named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference All-Tournament Team.

Fannon showed her mettle in the conference quarterfinals, scoring both goals in Goldey-Beacom's 2-0 victory over Holy Family.  It marked the 10th time this season she scored at least twice in one game and gave her four goals in addition to an assist in both meetings this year versus the Tigers.

Fannon this season put forth one of the greatest seasons on any level in any sport in being picked the league's Player of the Year, one season after being tabbed second team all-league.  She ends first in school history with 39 career goals, first with 25 single-season goals, first with 57 single-season points, second with 92 career points and tied for seventh with 14 career assists.

Fannon's goals and points both are second best in CACC single-season history.  She leads Division II in goals, points, goals per game at 1.25 and points per game at 2.85 this year.

She had a point in 13 contests this season, recorded a point in nine straight games early in the campaign and had a five-game goals streak midway through the season.

Mejia continued to be the main component in what is a strong Lightning defense.  This unit in the tournament permitted just one goal and in the quarterfinals against Holy Family allowed just four shots on goal.

One who many teams have to game plan around, Mejia this year was picked second team all-league one season after being tabbed the CACC Defensive Player of the Year and first team CCA All-East Region.  As strong a center back as there is in the area, Mejia helped the Lightning record seven shutouts and also post 13 games in which the unit did not allow more than one goal.

Goldey-Beacom (11-7-2, 8-3-1 CACC) again recorded a highly successful campaign in advancing to the CACC semifinals a school-record third straight year, hosting a quarterfinal for a program-best four consecutive year and making the CACC Tournament a team-record sixth straight year.

In addition to Fannon and Mejia's honors, sophomore Melayna Immediato (Hockessin, DE) was picked first team all-league.  Rose Benjamin (North East, MD) won the CACC Top XVI Award for having the best GPA at the finals site with she and fellow junior Line Kristoffersen (Bergen, Norway) both being tabbed CoSIDA Academic All-District a second straight year.
