After making it back to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament, Goldey-Beacom looks to take another step forward and will do so against a tough 2019-20 schedule.

The Lightning for a fourth straight season will open on the campus of the University of the Sciences in a regional classic.  GBC on November 8 begins the season against Le Moyne and the next day faces perennial power Bentley.

The home opener is November 13 against the District of Columbia, during a stretch in which Goldey-Beacom faces solid non-conference opposition.  Other quality opponents include Saint Thomas Aquinas on November 26, Southern New Hampshire on December 14 and Saint Anselm the next day.

The league opener is December 7 at Chestnut Hill and the first conference game at home is December 18 against University of the Sciences, which last season was the top seed in the NCAA Tournament's East Regional.

Defending CACC champion Jefferson hosts GBC on January 15 and pays a visit to Pike Creek on February 26.  Goldey-Beacom visits University of the Sciences on February 4.

The regular season ends February 29 at Wilmington (DE) and the CACC Tournament is from March 3-8 with the top eight teams qualifying.

One of the most potent weapons in the area is back with the return of senior guard Amanda McGrogan (Mount Laurel, NJ).  A consummate pro who is a great teammate and a solid leader, McGrogan last season was picked second team All-CACC and a member of the league's All-Tournament Team.

A gifted student-athlete, McGrogan last season was 52nd in the country as well as first in the league with 17.8 points per game, 24th in the nation with 142 free throws (second-best mark in team history), 81st with 3.9 assists per contest, 85th with 113 assists (sixth-best total in team history) and 90th with a 1.49 assist-to-turnover ratio.

A two-time member of the CACC Academic Honor Roll, McGrogan enters the season 11th in school history with 928 career points, tied for fifth with 243 assists, 10th with 80 three-pointers and 10th with 222 free throws.

Sophomore Sarah Round (Northampton, England) was a tremendous addition to the Lightning a season ago at guard and once again should be a key for the squad.  Of the league's best shooters and the only returnee to start all 30 contests last season, Round ended the campaign 45th in the country with 74 three-pointers, 54th with 2.47 three-pointers per game, 15th in the CACC with 130 field goals, 21st with a .330 three-point percentage and 25th with 12.3 points per contest.

Sophomore forward Alexis Harrison (Millville, NJ) returns and hopes she once again can be a key player in the post.  A strong competitor who could have a bigger role on both sides of the ball, Harrison enters the season first in team history with a .529 field goal percentage and 10th with 42 blocks.
