One of the go-to players this season is junior Makinsie Balderson (Fairfax, VA), who has been a vital player in many ways over her first two seasons. Last season, she was sixth in the country with 60 aces, 10th with 0.54 aces per set, 24th in the league with 281 digs and 31st with 62 assists. Balderson enters the season eighth in school history with 103 aces.

Senior Olivia Florence (Glen Allen, VA) has been an incredible important piece to the puzzle during her time at setter and once again hope to be one of the key players. She closed last season 17th in the CACC with 4.33 assists per set, 19th with 342 assists and 21st with 0.34 aces per set. Florence begins this year third in school history with 1,907 assists.

A welcome addition back to the lineup is sophomore outside hitter Lindsay Przywara (Williamstown, NJ), who missed all of last season due to injury. The 2016 CACC Rookie of the Year is as important to the lineup as anyone, finishing that year 53rd in the country with 3.72 kills per set, 66th with 4.17 points per set and eighth in the league with 331 kills.

Goldey-Beacom opens its season Thursday against Salem, starting at 5:00 pm in Kutztown, PA.
