Trevor Jump Named CACC Baseball Rookie of the Week

Another solid pitching performance led to another award for Goldey-Beacom with Trevor Jump (Wilmington, DE) picked the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Baseball Rookie of the Week.

Jump tossed a one-hit shutout Tuesday against Chestnut Hill, striking out a season-best seven over seven innings in Goldey-Beacom's 6-0 victory.

Jump has enjoyed a strong start to his collegiate career with the second-year program. He is 11th in the league with two wins, third with two complete games, 16th with a .198 batting average against, 22nd with 26 innings pitched and 24th with 18 strikeouts.

He has three starts this season with at least seven innings pitched and in all of those has not permitted more than two earned runs. Jump also has notched at least three strikeouts in four of his six appearances.

Goldey-Beacom (9-17-1, 7-5 CACC) has showed noticeable improvement from its debut campaign, already surpassing its conference win total and now is one victory shy of its overall aggregate. The Lightning are third in the CACC South Division with the top four schools in each of the two divisions making the conference tournament.

Goldey-Beacom is on the road Tuesday at Concordia (NY) for an interdivision doubleheader. Please note the first pitch in Bronxville, NY will be at 1:00 pm.
