A solid group of talented players back in the fold provides enough optimism for Goldey-Beacom, which was picked end sixth in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference South Division based on a vote of the league's coaches.

Goldey-Beacom (11-15, 6-13 CACC) a season ago had a solid mix of experienced and youthful players in being declared the NCAA Division II statistical champion for aces per set with 2.4.  The Lightning also recorded a four-win improvement in both their overall and conference records.

One of the key pieces returning this season is sophomore outside hitter Lindsay Przywara (Williamstown, NJ), whose impeccable play and immediate impact helped her to be named CACC Rookie of the Year.  Expected to get even more touches this fall, Przywara a season ago closed 53rd in the country with 3.72 kills per set, 66th with 4.17 points per set, eighth in the league with 331 kills, 18th with a .219 hitting percentage, 30th with 29 aces, 39th with 2.57 digs per set and 40th with 229 digs.

Przywara's 331 kills were seventh in school history and she enters the year ninth in team annals with a .219 hitting percentage.

Also back is junior setter Olivia Florence (Glen Allen, VA), who has been a great catalyst and leader for the offense.  Looking to join Przywara with some league accolades, Florence a season ago ended 33rd in the nation with 0.46 aces per set, 88th with 41 aces, 96th with 9.64 assists per set and fifth in the CACC with 858 assists.

Back for a third year on the front line is senior Jada Canteen (Newark, DE), who has been a valuable attacker at both middle hitter and the right side.  She closed last season 16th in the CACC with a .221 hitting percentage, 28th with seven block solos, 34th with 1.77 kills per set, 39th with 156 kills, 41st with 33 total blocks and 44th with 26 block assists.

Goldey-Beacom opens its season September 1 against Salem International, part of Ramfest in West Chester, PA.
