In hopes of making the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament a third consecutive year, Goldey-Beacom was picked to close ninth in the league based on a vote of the league's coaches.

GBC (8-10, 5-7 CACC) last season made the conference tournament a second straight year, marking the first time this happened since the squad went four consecutive seasons from 2003-06.  The Lightning last year recorded eight contests in which they were breached for no more than one goal.

A key returnee this season is junior midfielder Amy Runciman (Luton, England), who last year was tabbed first team All-CACC, second team CCA All-East Region and third team NSCAA All-East Region.  She also closed eighth in the country with 0.56 assists per game, 12th with 10 assists, 31st with 1.67 points per game, and her 10 goals, 10 assists and 30 points all were among the top six single-season marks in school history.

Runciman enters the year tied for third in school history with 16 assists and 10th with 40 points.

Senior Cindell Aguirre (El Paso, TX) returns for her fourth season as the squad's starting goalkeeper.  A key part of the defense, she enters the year second in school history with eight shutouts, third with a 2.16 save percentage and fourth with 169 saves.

Senior Becca Cordo (Roosevelt, NJ) closed fourth on the team with 16 points that included seven goals and sophomore Cliona Crammond (Wicklow, Ireland) amassed 13 points.

Georgian Court was picked to win the league with five first-place votes.  Philadelphia and Holy Family each received three first-place votes.

Goldey-Beacom opens the season September 4 at home against Barton.
