Goldey-Beacom's women's soccer team garnered three weekly honorees from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference and the women's tennis squad took home one.

Junior Cindell Aguirre (El Paso, TX) was picked the women's soccer Defensive Player of the Week, senior Megan Harvis (Delran, NJ) and freshman Cliona Crammond (Wicklow, Ireland) each were named to the weekly honor roll and freshman Merel Ann van Zanten (Velserbroek, Netherlands) was tabbed the women's tennis Rookie of the Week.

Aguirre finished with three shutouts and five saves last week to help Goldey-Beacom go 3-0.  She made two saves Monday in a 1-0 victory over Nyack, only had to make one Wednesday against Lincoln (PA) and came up with two Saturday in a 6-0 win vs. Dominican (NY).

She is fourth in the league with five shutouts and seventh with a 1.71 goals-against average.

Harvis went on another tear last week, ending with three goals and three assists to earn her second straight spot on the honor roll.  After recording an assist Monday against Nyack, Harvis scored twice and added an assist Wednesday vs. Lincoln before notching a goal and an assist Saturday against Dominican (NY).

Harvis, who is 27th in the country with eight assists, is tied for fourth place in school history with 14 career assists and tied for ninth with 38 career points.  She is 100th in the nation with 18 points.

Crammond scored twice and added an assist over three games.  She had a goal and an assist Wednesday against Lincoln (PA) and came back with a goal Saturday vs. Dominican (NY), giving her three goals and seven points on the year.

Van Zanten went 3-0 last week in singles and 2-1 in doubles to help GBC clinch its eighth straight trip to the CACC Tournament.  She rallied for a 1-6, 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 triumph at fifth singles vs. Chestnut Hill, posted a 6-4, 6-4 victory at Philadelphia U. and then moved up to fourth singles for a 6-1, 6-2 win over Caldwell.  At doubles, she was part of an 8-2 first-doubles win at Philadelphia U. with junior Nina Sengl (Puchheim, Germany) and an 8-1 second-doubles triumph over Caldwell with junior Francesca Beg (Westbury, England).

Van Zanten now is at 12 singles victories, just one outside the top 10 for the most in one season in GBC history.  She was named the league's Player and Rookie of the Week on September 21 and made the CACC Weekly Honor Roll last week.
