Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women’s Soccer Leaves No Doubt in 13-0 Rout of Lincoln (PA)

Goldey-Beacom saw 12 different players record a point and broke the school record for most goals in a game during its 13-0 victory over Lincoln (PA) at Nancy Churchman Sawin Field in Wilmington, DE.

Junior Jane Grimley (Franklinville, NJ) scored 40 seconds into the match as part of an eight-goal first half and the Lightning were never headed.  She got her second in the seventh minute for a 3-0 lead after sophomore Kelsey Vick (Clarksboro, NJ) tallied in the third minute.

Vick and senior Megan Harvis (Delran, NJ) each had two goals and an assist, Tatiana Marshall (Camden, DE) scored twice with fellow junior Becca Cordo (Roosevelt, NJ) and freshman Cliona Crammond (Wicklow, Ireland) each getting a goal and an assist.  Senior Stephanie Puentes Robinson (Bogota, Colombia) and junior Lauren DeVault (Woodstown, NJ) each scored, Valarie Orth (Pittsgrove, NJ) had two assists with fellow junior Courtney Casterlin (Chenango Forks, NY), sophomore Amy Runciman (Luton, England) and freshman Rachel Geissler (Franklinville, NJ) each contributing one.

Harvis' second five-point game in the last three contests gives her 35 career points, moving her into 10th place in school history.  Her 13th career assist puts her in a tie for fifth place in GBC annals and she also has a point in four of her last five contests.

Runciman's assist was her 11th career, placing her in a tie for eighth place in program history.

The Lightning (5-7) owned a 27-7 shots edge, including 18 on cage, and broke their previous mark of 11 goals set against Columbia Union on September 8, 2008.  It also was Goldey-Beacom's third straight shutout and fourth in the last five matches.

Tamara Greene had three shots and Kaylee Dennis made five saves for Lincoln (2-9).

Goldey-Beacom is home again on Saturday against Dominican (NY) as part of a doubleheader with the men's team.  The women's game starts at 1:00 pm, which precedes the men's 3:15 pm contest.
