Women’s Soccer Rolls to 6-0 Victory Over Dominican (NY)

Junior Becca Cordo (Roosevelt, NJ) scored twice and sophomore Amy Runciman (Luton, England) dished three assists for Goldey-Beacom, which dominated in a 6-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over Dominican (NY) at Nancy Churchman Sawin Field in Wilmington, DE.

Senior Megan Harvis (Delran, NJ) had yet another assist as she helped Cordo got things rolling for GBC in the 12th minute.  Harvis fed a pass inside the box and Cordo deposited it inside the left post for a 1-0 contest.

Harvis got things going again in the 29th minute.  She hooked up Runciman with a feed inside and the latter hit junior Jane Grimley (Franklinville, NJ), who tapped in home for a 2-0 margin.

Cordo ended the first-half scoring in the 37th minute by rebounding a shot from junior Courtney Casterlin (Chenango Forks, NY) and burying it for her fifth goal of the season, sixth career and first multi-goal contest.

Harvis got a goal of her own in the 61st minute, sophomore Halle Thomas (Mantua, NJ) scored less than two minutes later and freshman Cliona Crammond (Wicklow, Ireland) found pay dirt in the 74th minute.  Runciman, who entered the match tied for 41st in the country in total assists with Harvis, raised her team-best total to eight.  Her 14 career assists place her in a tie with Harvis and April Yanacek (2003-06) for fourth in school history.

Runciman's eight assists this season already are tied for fifth best in school history for one year and her 30 career points are one off the top 10.  Harvis' 38 points place her in a tie for ninth in GBC annals.

Casterlin had four shots, Runciman added three and junior Cindell Aguirre (El Paso, TX) made two saves for the Lightning (6-7, 4-5 CACC).

Angelica Contreras amassed six saves for the Chargers (1-10, 1-8).

Goldey-Beacom on Wednesday visits Wilmington (DE) for a 3:30 pm match in Newark.
