WILMINGTON, Del. - With the way Goldey-Beacom College senior forward Briana Richmond-Peters (Brimm Medical Arts H.S./Camden, N.J.) has played during her final season with the Lightning, it should come as no surprise that she delivered one of the best performances of her college career in her final home game.

All she did was post a "double double" for the third consecutive game by scoring a career-high 23 points with 10 rebounds as the Lightning (13-13, 10-9) won their third straight game, a 76-58 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over Philadelphia University (19-7, 17-2) on Senior Night at the Joseph West Jones College Center on Tuesday evening.

Richmond-Peters, who earned honorable mention recognition on the CACC's weekly awards on Monday, made 9 of 16 shots from the floor en route to posting her fifth "double double" of the season while adding a 5-for-6 effort from the foul line. She also added three assists, a steal and a blocked shot.

The Lightning, who never trailed in the game, sprinted out to a 16-8 lead in the opening six minutes of the first half by making six of their first nine field goal attempts. Philadelphia University trimmed the margin to 20-19 by going on an 11-4 spurt over the next five minutes before the Lightning scored 9 of the next 11 points to extend their advantage to 29-21.

After the Rams closed the gap to 30-25, Goldey-Beacom used a 7-4 spurt to end the first half for a 37-31 advantage at the intermission. Richmond-Peters scored 13 of her game-high 23 points in the opening stanza.

The Rams trimmed the margin to 43-41 in the first 5:23 of the second half by scoring 10 of the first 16 points, including six points from sophomore guard Bria Young (Preparatory Charter H.S./Philadelphia, Pa.). But, the Lightning surged ahead with a 10-2 run to take a 53-43 lead they did not relinquish.

While Richmond-Peters led the Lightning to the victory, freshman guard Jasmyne Lewis (Rancocas Valley H.S./Mount Laurel, N.J.) added 12 points after making five of eight field goal attempts while junior forward Chelsea Grover (Seneca H.S./Southampton, N.J.) contributed eight points and nine rebounds.

Junior guard Najah Jacobs (Central H.S./Philadelphia, Pa.) led the Rams by scoring 19 points while junior guard Monica Schacker (Germantown Academy/Doylestown, Pa.) added 11 points.

The Rams, who secured their first CACC South Division title in program history on Saturday afternoon, lost for the second time in the last three games and were held to just 58 points, matching a season low.

Goldey-Beacom, which earned its fifth consecutive appearance in the CACC Tournament, will travel to Bloomfield on Saturday afternoon for a 4:30 p.m. quarterfinal game against North Division champion Deacons.
