News and Notes
• Playing its second match in less than 24 hours, the Lightning volleyball team returns home to the Joseph West Jones College Center this afternoon to face Mercy College in a non-conference match as part of the College's Homecoming festivities ... Opening serve between the Mavericks and the Lightning is slated for 1 p.m.

• Now 9-10 overall and 4-6 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, the Lightning ended a two-match losing streak by posting a three-set CACC South Division victory over the University of the Sciences on Friday night ... Senior outside hitter Kadi McCoy led the Lightning with her fifth "double double" of the season after posting 14 kills with 10 digs while junior setter Danielle Cipolletti added her team-high sixth "double double" of the year with 31 assists and 12 digs.

• Sophomore middle hitter Grace McCarthy came off the bench to tally 10 kills while senior middle hitter Taylor Moyer added nine kills, moving her into fifth place on the Lightning's career kills list with 698 career kills.

• The CACC leader with 268 kills in 19 matches, McCoy has tallied 10 or more kills in 13 of the Lightning's 19 matches this season ... She has also posted a "double double" in three of the team's last four outings while averaging 10.4 digs per outing in her last seven contests.

• Meanwhile, Cipolletti leads the CACC with 605 assists in 19 matches and has recorded 30 or more assists in 12 of the team's 19 matches, including five of the last six outings ... A transfer from Phoenix College, Cipolletti currently ranks sixth on the Lightning's single-season assist list and is tied for fifth place on the Lightning's career assist list.

• Of Cipolletti's six "double double" efforts this season, four of them have come in the last five matches.

• Senior defensive specialist Niki Receveur posted 10 or more digs for the 13th time this season, including the last six matches in a row, after tallying 19 digs on Friday night … Receveur, who ranks fifth in school history with 1,145 career digs, is averaging 13.8 digs per match in her last six contests.

• Currently 4-14 overall and 0-8 in the East Coast Conference, the Mavericks will be trying to end a two-match losing streak this afternoon when they visit Goldey-Beacom ... Mercy dropped a four-set decision against Molloy on Thursday night despite a match-high 18 kills and 17 digs from senior outside hitter Brenna White.

• White leads the Mavericks with 348 kills in 18 matches while averaging 5.12 kills per set ... She also ranks second on the team with 16 service aces and 207 digs ... Meanwhile, McKenna Ronan is the team's primary setter with 569 assists in 19 matches while leading the team with 18 service aces.

• Today's match will mark the sixth all-time meeting between the Lightning and the Mavericks in a series Mercy leads by a 3-2 margin ... The Mavericks have won the last two affairs, including a three-set victory on Sept. 15, 2012 ... However, Mercy is visiting Goldey-Beacom for the first time since the 2011 season when the Lightning earned a four-set victory.

• The Lightning will return to their CACC schedule on Tuesday night when they visit Wilmington University for a 7 p.m. match-up against the Wildcats.
