Volleyball Returns to Winning Ways With Three-Set Victory at USciences

Lightning End Two-Match Losing Streak



PHILADELPHIA, Pa.
- Senior outside hitter Kadi McCoy (Dallastown H.S./Dallastown, Pa.) recorded 14 kills and added 12 digs as Goldey-Beacom College (9-10, 4-6) ended a two-match losing streak by posting a three-set Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over the University of the Sciences (1-10, 0-8) at Bobby Morgan Arena on Friday evening.

The Lightning, who earned their second straight victory over the Devils, claimed the win by set scores of 25-14, 25-23 and 25-22.

In leading the Lightning to the victory, McCoy was one of two Goldey-Beacom players to post a "double double" as junior setter Danielle Cipolletti (Scottsdale H.S./Scottsdale, Ariz.) contributed 31 assists and 12 digs. Sophomore middle hitter Grace McCarthy (Delaware Military Academy/Middletown, Del.) came off the bench to tally 10 kills while senior middle hitter Taylor Moyer (Blue Mountain H.S./Schuylkill Haven, Pa.) added nine kills.

Senior defensive specialist Niki Receveur (Concord H.S./Wilmington, Del.) led the Lightning defense with a match-high 19 digs.

Junior middle hitter Caitlyn Crawford (Covington H.S./Covington, Ohio) tallied eight kills with six digs and three blocks for the Devils, who have lost nine matches in a row.

Quick Strikes
· The Lightning and the Devils met for the 36th time in a series that the University of the Sciences leads by a 20-16 margin … However, the Lightning ended a four-match losing streak against the Devils with Friday's victory. 
· McCoy posted her fifth "double double" of the season in Friday night's win against the Devils ... She has tallied a "double double" in three of the last four matches.
· McCoy posted her 13th 10-kill effort of the season on Friday night … With 268 kills in 19 matches, she leads the CACC … In addition, McCoy upped her school-record career total to 1,240 kills.
· McCoy also tallied 10 or more digs for the sixth time this season … Over her last seven matches, she is averaging 10.4 digs per contest.  
· Cipolletti earned her team-leading sixth "double double" of the year against the University of the Sciences … She has posted four "double double" efforts in the last five matches.
· Cipolletti tallied 30 or more assists for the 12th time this season, including five of the last six matches … With 605 assists in 19 matches, Cipolletti continues to lead the CACC and ranks fourth in the CACC by averaging 8.90 assists per set.
· Cipolletti also moved into a tie for sixth place on the Lightning's career assists list after her 31-assist performance on Friday night ... In addition, she now ranks sixth on the Goldey-Beacom single-season assist list.
· Receveur posted 10 or more digs for the 13th time this season, including the last six matches in a row, after tallying 19 digs on Friday night … She increased her career total to 1,145 digs, the fifth-highest total in school history.
· With nine kills against the Devils on Friday night, Moyer moved into fifth on the Lightning's career kills list ... She now has 698 kills in her career.
