WILMINGTON, Del. – Sophomore midfielder
Lexxi Carroll (Plainville, Conn.) scored a goal and added an assist as Post University (2-3-0, 1-1-0) erupted for a season-high three goals en route to a 3-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over Goldey-Beacom College (0-3-0, 0-3-0) in the Lightning's home opener at Nancy Churchman-Sawin Field on Saturday afternoon.
The Eagles, who earned their second win in the last three matches, tallied all three of their goals in the second half en route to earning their second shutout of the season.
After a scoreless first half, the Eagles took a 1-0 lead in the 63rd minute when junior forward
Tessa Dunster (Westhill H.S./Stamford, Conn.) scored her second goal of the season on a 20-yard blast that sailed over the head of Goldey-Beacom freshman goalkeeper
Cindell Aguirre (Coronado H.S./El Paso, Texas).
Just under 10 minutes later, Carroll upped the advantage to 2-0 when she earned her third goal of the season after collecting a loose ball and scored in a one-on-one situation with Aguirre.

Valerie Moore (Bloomfield H.S./Bloomfield, Conn.) added an insurance marker when she scored the first goal of her college career off a Carroll assist.

Grace McConnell (Leeds, England) earned her second shutout win of the season despite not needing to make a save.
Meanwhile, Aguirre made seven saves in a losing effort for the Lightning, who were outshot by a 15-1 margin.
The Lightning will travel to Wilmington University on Wednesday, Sept. 25 for a 3:30 p.m. CACC match against the Wildcats. Meanwhile, the Eagles will visit Dominican on Wednesday afternoon.
