Volleyball Wraps Up Homestand by Hosting Chestnut Hill

Lightning Look to Extend Win Streak

Goldey-Beacom vs. Chestnut Hill Live Stats

WILMINGTON, Del.
- Hoping to end its four-match homestand on a winning note, the Goldey-Beacom College volleyball team will host Chestnut Hill College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match at the Joseph West Jones College Center on Tuesday night at 7 p.m.

It will be the Lightning's last home match until Saturday, Oct. 5 when they host Dominican College at 1 p.m.

Now 3-5 overall and 0-1 in the CACC, the Lightning will be trying to earn their third win in a row when they host the Griffins on Tuesday night. After starting the season with four straight losses, Goldey-Beacom has won three of its last four contests after a pair of victories over Cheyney and Delaware Valley on Saturday afternoon.

Named as the CACC Player of the Week on Monday, junior outside hitter Kadi McCoy (Dallastown H.S./Dallastown, Pa.) led the Lightning to three wins last week. She recorded 60 kills and 32 digs in the four matches, including a season-high 21 kills with 10 digs in the Lightning's four-set triumph over Delaware Valley.

With 91 kills in eight matches, McCoy ranks third in the CACC. She is also averaging 3.25 kills per set, which ranks fourth in the CACC.

Meanwhile, freshman middle hitters Grace McCarthy (Delaware Military Academy/Middletown, Del.) and Casey Bair (Winters Mill H.S./Westminster, Md.) will be trying to continue their recent success. McCarthy, who was named to the CACC Honor Roll on Monday, had an outstanding performance last week by hitting .333 with 36 kills and a team-high seven blocks. Bair also had a solid performance in Saturday's tri-match by posting a .621 hitting percentage with 21 kills and just three attack errors.

McCarthy ranks second on the Lightning with 48 kills and 11 service aces while being tied with Bair for the team lead with 10 total blocks. Bair has 42 kills in eight matches for Goldey-Beacom.

Off to a 1-7 start overall and an 0-1 record in the CACC, Chestnut Hill will be trying to snap a three-match losing streak when they visit the Lightning on Tuesday night. The Griffins lost three of four matches last weekend at the West Chester University Tournament.

Freshman outside hitter Madison McBride (Robert A. Millikan H.S/Long Beach, Calif.) has been the Griffins' offensive leader this season with 85 kills while ranking second on the squad with 94 digs. Meanwhile, senior outside hitter Alexandra DePalma (Governor Mifflin H.S./Shillington, Pa.) has contributed 81 kills in eight matches this season, including 10 kills with 11 digs against Stonehill on Saturday.

After Tuesday night's match, the Lightning will be idle until Thursday, Sept. 26 when they visit Bowie State for a 7 p.m. non-conference match.
