Updating the Lightning
Currently 19-9 on the season, the Lightning will be looking to rebound after having their school-record nine-game win streak snapped in the regular season finale last Saturday with a 69-58 setback against No. 6 Holy Family in a CACC South Division matchup at the Jones Center. It marked the Lightning's first loss since a 47-43 verdict against the Tigers, who were ranked 14th at the time, on Jan. 10 at the Campus Center. Senior forward Irene Hudson continued her late season surge by posting a team-high 14 points, marking the sixth straight game she has scored in double figures. In addition, she had eight rebounds and two blocked shots for the Lightning. Meanwhile, senior guard Devonne Richardson contributed a game-high 11 rebounds with along six points as the Lightning outrebounded Holy Family by a 44-43 margin.

Scouting Post
Making their first appearance in the CACC Women's Basketball Championship since 2006-07, the Eagles will be looking to get back on the winning track after suffering their fourth loss in the last five games with a 75-53 defeat against the University of the Sciences in the regular season finale last Thursday at the Drubner Center. Sophomore Jacquelynne Pugh led four Post players in double figures with 16 points while junior guard Aubrey Latham added 13 points with four rebounds and three steals. In addition, the Lightning have won six straight games over the Eagles by an average of 15.5 points per game. Saturday's game will mark the first postseason meeting between the two teams.

A Look Back at This Year's Earlier Meeting
Senior guard Devonne Richardson recorded the first "triple double" in Goldey-Beacom College women's basketball history by scoring 14 points while grabbing 11 rebounds with a career-high 12 assists as the Lightning earned a 68-45 victory over Post at the Joseph West Jones College on Jan. 26. Richardson, who narrowly missed a "triple double" just three days before against Philadelphia University, tallied 6 of her 11 rebounds in the final three minutes to record the first "triple double" effort in the CACC in nearly eight years. Senior forward Irene Hudson contributed 13 points with eight rebounds while senior guard Jacinda Jones added 14 points by making four of eight three-point field goal attempts.

Richardson Highlights Lightning's All-CACC Selections
Seniors Devonne Richardson, Irene Hudson and Jacinda Jones were named to the All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference women's basketball teams as announced by the CACC on Wednesday afternoon. Richardson, who received All-CACC accolades for the third time in her career, was named to the All-CACC first team for the first time in her career while Hudson earned second team notice for the second consecutive season. Meanwhile, Jones earned her third career All-CACC selection after being named as an honorable mention selection. Goldey-Beacom, Holy Family and Dominican were the only schools with three honorees on the All-CACC teams.

Hudson Named as Honorable Mention Selection for CACC Weekly Awards
For the second time this season, senior forward Irene Hudson was named as an honorable mention selection for the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference weekly awards on Monday afternoon after leading Goldey-Beacom to a split of its two games last week. The Syracuse, N.Y. native averaged 17.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per game while shooting 55.0 per cent from the field. Hudson, who has scored in double figures in six consecutive games, tallied a game-high 20 points against Philadelphia University on Tuesday night before a 14-point effort in the Lightning's loss against No. 6 Holy Family. Hudson also received the award on Jan. 21 after the Lightning's home win against Chestnut Hill.

Too Close for Comfort
Of the Lightning's 19 victories this season, 10 of them have been decided by nine points or less. In addition, the Lightning have won three of their games this year with a field goal in the closing seconds of regulation. On Nov. 12, senior guard Jacinda Jones gave Goldey-Beacom a 67-66 victory at Kutztown with a field goal with two seconds remaining. Senior guard Devonne Richardson scored on a lay-up with 5.8 seconds left in regulation on Dec. 8 to break a 53-53 tie against Caldwell. In the Lightning's 61-60 win over Dominican on Feb. 16, senior guard Ashley Rosario scored on a lay-up as time expired to give Goldey-Beacom a one-point victory.

Richardson in Exclusive Company Among Active NCAA Players
In addition to owning the Goldey-Beacom career rebounding record, senior guard Devonne Richardson can also claim her place as one of the best active players in the country in career rebounds. Entering Saturday's CACC quarterfinal game against Post, the Baltimore, Md. native is the only active Division II women's basketball player with at least 1,000 career rebounds. Richardson, who also ranks among the NCAA active career leaders in several other categories, ranks fourth in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference this season by averaging 9.2 rebounds per game.

Richardson Records First "Triple Double" in Lightning's Win Over Post
Senior guard Devonne Richardson became the first player in Goldey-Beacom College women's basketball history to record a "triple double" when she accomplished the feat against Post University on Jan. 26. The Baltimore, Md. native scored a game-high 14 points with 11 rebounds and a career-high 12 assists while leading the Lightning to a 68-45 victory over the Eagles at the Jones Center. It marked the sixth "triple double" game in NCAA Division II this season and is believed to be the first by a player in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference since Feb. 15, 2005 when Leah Shumoski of the University of the Sciences scored 13 points with 11 rebounds and 10 assists against the Lightning in an 80-70 victory.

What's Ahead for Goldey-Beacom
Should the Lightning win on Saturday, they would advance to the CACC semifinals on Saturday afternoon to face either Philadelphia University or Caldwell. The game time would be either 12 p.m. or 2 p.m. at Bobby Morgan Arena on the campus of the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. The Lightning swept the regular season series against the Rams this season while posting a 55-53 victory over the Cougars on Dec. 8 at the Jones Center.
