LAKEWOOD, N.J. – Senior forward
Irene Hudson (Corcoran H.S./Syracuse, N.Y.) scored a game-high 14 points and added nine rebounds to lead Goldey-Beacom College (16-8, 13-2) to its sixth straight win, a 54-45 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over Georgian Court University (7-15, 6-10) at the Lions' Wellness Center on Wednesday evening.
Led by Hudson, the Lightning used a strong defensive effort to tie the school record with their sixth consecutive victory. Goldey-Beacom held Georgian Court to 25.0 per cent shooting from the field and recorded nine blocks against the Lions.
In a back-and-forth first half that featured six lead changes and two ties, the Lightning overcame a two-point deficit by scoring 11 consecutive points to take a 22-13 lead with 6:36 remaining on a pair of free throws from senior forward

The Lions narrowed the margin to 28-26 by scoring 13 of the final 19 points during the final six minutes of the first half.
The Lightning extended their advantage to six points in the first six minutes of the second half before Georgian Court scored six of the next eight points to trim the deficit to 38-36 with 12:16 remaining on a lay-up by senior guard

However, the Lightning answered with a 7-0 spurt to increase the advantage to 45-36 on a free throw by junior forward
Briana Richmond-Peters (Brimm Medical Arts H.S./Camden, N.J.).
The Lions narrowed the margin to four points with 2:54 remaining before the Lightning secured the victory by converting six free throws in the final two minutes.
Hudson was one of three Goldey-Beacom players to score in double figures. Sophomore forward
Chelsea Grover (Seneca H.S./Southampton, N.J.) contributed 10 points with five rebounds while Richmond-Peters came off the bench to score a season-high 11 points.
McPhearson led Georgian Court with 14 points, four steals and three blocked shots.
With the win, the Lightning extended their win streak over the Lions to 15 straight games.
The Lightning, who have won 13 of their last 16 games, will continue their three-game road trip on Saturday afternoon when they travel to Nyack College for a 1 p.m. CACC game against the Warriors.
