WILMINGTON, Del. – Senior midfielder Jamilyn Snyder (Lacey Township H.S./Lacey, N.J.) scored the game's only goal in the 86th minute as Dominican College (3-3-2, 3-2-0) snapped a two-match winless streak with a 1-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over Goldey-Beacom College (1-7-0, 0-7-0) at the Lightning's Nancy Churchman-Sawin Field on Saturday afternoon.

The win allowed the Chargers to earn their first road victory in five tries this season while handing the Lightning their second loss in five days.

Snyder, who scored her team-leading fourth goal of the season, took a pass from senior midfielder Danielle Klecha (Monroe Township H.S./Jamesburg, N.J.) and fired a shot past freshman goalkeeper Cindell Aguirre (Coronado H.S./El Paso, Texas) with 4:39 left to give the Chargers a one-goal lead they did not relinquish.

The Lightning were unable to generate a shot in the final four minutes as the Chargers held on for the win.

While Snyder provided the only offense in the game, freshman goalkeeper Gina Yannette (Dumont H.S./Dumont, N.J.) made seven saves to earn her fourth shutout of the season.

Aguirre made two saves in the loss for the Lightning, who were playing their fourth match in an eight-day span.

The Lightning held a slim 14-13 advantage in shots over Dominican while the Chargers had a 6-4 edge in corner kicks.

Goldey-Beacom, which was trying to earn back-to-back wins for the first time this season, will play its final non-conference game on Wednesday, Oct. 9 when the Lightning visit Mansfield for a 7 p.m. affair. Meanwhile, the Chargers will host Concordia in a CACC match on Wednesday night.
