LAKEWOOD, N.J. - Junior outside hitter
Kadi McCoy (Dallastown H.S./Dallastown, Pa.) recorded eight kills and added four digs, but it was not enough as Goldey-Beacom College (5-19, 0-15) dropped a three-set match against Georgian Court University (13-11, 11-3) in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match at the Lions' GCU Wellness Center on Thursday evening.
The Lions, who earned their fourth win in the last six matches, claimed the victory by set scores of 25-8, 25-13 and 25-15.
While McCoy led the Lightning offense with eight kills, senior opposite
Roni Peters (Leonardtown H.S./Leonardtown, Md.) posted a team-high 11 assists while contributing four kills.
Meanwhile, junior defensive specialist
Niki Receveur (Concord H.S./Wilmington, Del.) and junior right side
Daphne Bistrimovich (Freehold H.S./Freehold, N.J.) paced the Lightning defense with seven digs apiece.
Freshman outside hitter
Alice Vincente (Lisboa, Portugal) led the Lions to the victory by recording a match-high 10 kills along with three service aces.
The Lightning will continue their three-match road trip on Thursday, Oct. 31 by making the short trip to Wilmington University for a 7 p.m. match against the Wildcats.
