PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Junior midfielder Katherine Williams (Holy Cross H.S./Pennsauken, N.J.) and senior defender Lauren Nolte (Padua Academy/Wilmington, Del.) each scored a goal in the final 11 minutes as Chestnut Hill College (5-11-1, 5-6-1) snapped a three-match losing streak with a 2-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over Goldey-Beacom College (2-11-1, 1-10-1) at Victory Field #1 on Tuesday afternoon.

The win allowed the Griffins to move into a tie for sixth place in the CACC standings with Bloomfield and Wilmington and stay in the hunt for a berth in the CACC Tournament. The top eight teams advance to the CACC quarterfinals, which will take place next week.

Williams gave the Griffins a 1-0 lead with 10:49 remaining in regulation when she knocked in a rebound of a shot by senior forward Carly DiGiovanni (Ocean City H.S./Seaville, N.J.) for her fourth goal of the season.

Just over four minutes later, the Griffins added an insurance marker when Nolte took a feed from junior midfielder Kelly McKenna (Caesar Rodney H.S./Dover, Del.) and tallied her second goal of the season.

From there, the Griffins held the Lightning without a shot over the final six minutes to preserve the shutout.

Junior goalkeeper Samantha Pauls (Union Catholic Regional H.S./South Plainfield, N.J.) needed to make just one save to earn her second shutout of the season.

Senior goalkeeper Michelle Foster (Overbrook H.S./West Berlin, N.J.) tallied nine saves for the Lightning, who were outshot by a 31-8 margin.
