Concordia Outlasts Volleyball to Earn Four-Set Victory

WILMINGTON, Del. – Junior outside hitter Leina Braga (Salvador, Brazil) recorded a "double double" with 15 kills and 11 digs as Concordia College (3-12, 3-12) earned its second straight win with a four-set Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over Goldey-Beacom College (5-18, 0-14) at the Lightning's Joseph West Jones College Center on Saturday afternoon.

The Clippers, who had lost eight straight matches before claiming back-to-back victories over Post and Goldey-Beacom, earned the win by set scores of 25-14, 25-19, 16-25 and 28-26.

Braga, who earned her second "double double" of the season, was one of two Concordia players with 10 or more kills as senior outside hitter Irina Impellittiere (Haldane H.S./Cold Spring, N.Y.) contributed 10 kills with 13 digs and three service aces.

Senior setter Hillary Hoffman (East Meadow H.S./East Meadow, N.Y.) also added a "double double" for Concordia by tallying 32 assists with a season-high 16 assists. She also contributed three kills with a season-high four service aces.

Junior outside hitter Kadi McCoy (Dallastown H.S./Dallastown, Pa.) led the Lightning in the loss with her 10th "double double" of the season with a match-high 16 kills and 11 assists. She also added nine digs for Goldey-Beacom, which was playing its fourth straight home match.

Junior outside hitter Taylor Moyer (Blue Mountain H.S./Schuylkill Haven, Pa.) added nine kills and a .250 hitting percentage while recording a team-high five blocks.

The Lightning will begin a three-match road trip on Wednesday, Oct. 30 when they visit Georgian Court for a CACC South Division match at 7 p.m. Meanwhile, the Clippers will visit Felician on Wednesday night.
