Bloomfield Earns Three-Set Victory Over Volleyball

McCoy Nearly Earns "Triple Double" to Lead Lightning

WILMINGTON, Del. – Freshman outside hitter Ashley Wright (Rancho Verde H.S./Moreno Valley, Calif.) recorded a match-high 14 kills and added 13 digs to lead Bloomfield College (2-18, 2-9) to its second win in the last three matches, a three-set Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over Goldey-Beacom College (4-16, 0-12) at the Lightning's Joseph West Jones College Center on Saturday afternoon.

The Deacons, who were playing for the second time in less than 24 hours, earned the victory by set scores of 27-25, 25-16 and 25-16.

Wright, who posted her third "double double" of the season, also hit .257 with two service aces and two blocks to lead the Deacons. Meanwhile, freshman setter Jacquelyn Madlock (Alta Loma H.S./Alta Loma, Calif.) contributed 29 assists with six digs and four blocks.

Freshman defensive specialist Rachel Neilan (Science Park H.S./Bloomfield, N.J.) anchored the Deacons' defensive effort by registering a season-high 17 digs.  

Junior outside hitter Kadi McCoy (Dallastown H.S./Dallastown, Pa.) nearly recorded a "triple double" for the third consecutive match by recording a team-high 12 kills with 10 digs and 9 assists. With her 12-kill effort on Saturday, she moved into second place in school history with 849 career kills, moving past Kendra Russell. Russell tallied 843 kills during her four-year career from 2004 to 2007.

Meanwhile, junior outside hitter Taylor Moyer (Blue Mountain H.S./Schuylkill Haven, Pa.) added eight kills with a .412 hitting percentage. In addition, she set a season high with six blocks.

The Lightning, who have lost 10 matches in a row, will continue their four-match homestand on Wednesday, Oct. 23 when they host Holy Family in a CACC match at 7 p.m.
