WILMINGTON, Del. – Led by a goal and an assist from junior defender Kaitlyn Hartkopf (Cherry Hill East H.S./Cherry Hill, N.J.), Georgian Court University (8-3-2, 7-0-2) erupted for five goals in the second half to earn its seventh win in the last 10 matches, a 5-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over Goldey-Beacom College (1-9-1, 0-8-1) at the Lightning's Nancy Churchman-Sawin Field on Tuesday afternoon.

The Lions, who currently lead the CACC with a 7-0-2 record, scored five or more goals for the second time this season while handing the Lightning their third loss in the last four matches.

After a scoreless first half, the Lions took a 1-0 lead in the 54th minute when freshman midfielder Tayler Bramley (Sparta H.S./Sparta, N.J.) converted a pair of quick passes from Hartkopf and sophomore midfielder Katie Vecchio (Williamstown, N.J.) for her third goal of the season.

Just under six minutes later, the Lions scored back-to-back goals in a 50-second span to increase the margin to 3-0. After Hartkopf converted a penalty kick for her first goal of the season, freshman forward Morgan Peacock (Edison H.S./Edison, N.J.) headed in a pass from sophomore midfielder Tori Capestro (Brick Memorial H.S./Brick, N.J.) on a sharp angle for her third goal of the season.

In the 76th minute, freshman forward Tuere Chisholm-Thomas (Columbia H.S./South Orange, N.J.) upped the advantage to 4-0 with her third goal of the year off a feed from junior midfielder Kerry Ann Strohmeier (Southern Regional H.S./Manahawkin, N.J.).

The Lions added a goal in the 79th minute when a shot was deflected by a Goldey-Beacom defender and went into the goal for a 5-0 margin.

Sophomore goalkeeper Casey O'Connor (Toms River South H.S./Toms River, N.J.) made five saves en route to her CACC-leading sixth shutout of the season.
Making her second consecutive start, senior Michelle Foster (Overbrook H.S./West Berlin, N.J.) made five saves in the loss for the Lightning, who were outshot by a 20-8 margin.

The Lightning, who are winless in their last four matches, will play their final home game of the season on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 3 p.m. when they host Bloomfield College in a CACC contest. Meanwhile, the Lions will travel to Lincoln University on Thursday, Oct. 17 for a 4 p.m. non-conference match.
