NEW CASTLE, Del. – Junior forward Alysia Arcona (Hackettstown H.S./Hackettstown, N.J.) scored two goals and added an assist as Felician College (3-3-0, 2-1-0) snapped a three-match losing streak with a 3-1 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over Goldey-Beacom College (0-5-0, 0-4-0) at the Kirkwood Soccer Complex on Saturday afternoon.

The CACC's leading scorer with seven goals and two assists, Arcona tallied her second multi-goal effort of the season while helping the Golden Falcons earn their first win since a 6-0 victory over Concordia on Sept. 6.

Felician took a 1-0 lead in the 19th minute when junior forward Juliet Numfor (Stanstead College/Hillsborough, N.J.) scored her second goal of the season on a header after receiving a pass from Arcona.

Less than five minutes later, Arcona extended the Golden Falcons' advantage to 2-0 when she bent a corner kick into the far side of the goal past senior goalkeeper Alyssa Vetrano (Shore Regional H.S./Ocean, N.J.).

With 14:15 remaining in the first half, the Lightning trimmed the deficit to 2-1 when junior forward Danielle Semenza (Hazleton Area H.S./Hazel Township, Pa.) scored her first goal of the season off assists from freshman Tiffany Kelly (Parsippany H.S./Parsippany, N.J.) and sophomore Alexandra Smith (Pennsville Memorial H.S./Pennsville, N.J.).

But, the Golden Falcons added an insurance goal in the 70th minute when Arcona scored her second goal of the match, a 35-yard blast past Vetrano to give Felician a 3-1 advantage.

While Arcona led the Golden Falcons, senior goalkeeper Allie Couzo (Sayreville War Memorial H.S./Sayreville, N.J.) made eight saves for the second straight match.

Vetrano posted seven saves in a losing effort for the Lightning, who had an 18-15 advantage in shots.

The Lightning will finish their three-match homestand on Wednesday afternoon when they host Chestnut Hill College at the Kirkwood Soccer Complex at 3 p.m.
