Opening Tip-Off
Looking to continue their winning ways, the Lightning will begin a three-game road trip on Monday night by making the short trip to Wilmington University for a CACC contest against the Wildcats. Opening tip-off between the two local rivals is slated for 8 p.m. and will be the second game in a CACC doubleheader. Live video for Monday's game will be available by visiting the Wildcats' official athletics website, www.wilmu.edu/athletics

Updating the Lightning
After rallying to edge Caldwell by a 55-53 margin on Saturday afternoon, the Lightning will bring a three-game win streak into their match-up against Wilmington on Monday night. Now 6-5 overall and 3-1 in the CACC, the Lightning have won three straight games for the second time this season after opening the season with three wins in a row. Senior guard Devonne Richardson, who is the Lightning's leading scorer and rebounder, tallied 15 points and a season-high 16 rebounds, including the game-winning field goal with 5.8 seconds remaining in regulation. Meanwhile, senior guard Ashley Rosario contributed a season-high 17 points against the Cougars by making 8 of 9 field goal attempts.

Scouting Wilmington
Off to a 2-9 overall start and a 1-4 mark in the CACC, the Wildcats had their two-game win streak snapped with a 77-53 road setback against Felician on Saturday afternoon. The Wildcats, who opened the season by losing seven consecutive games, were led by freshman guard Tenicia Spence, who scored a team-high 22 points by making 6 of 19 shots from the floor in addition to 8 of 10 free throws. Spence is the Wildcats' leading scorer with an 18.5 average and has been the Wildcats' leading scorer in 9 of their first 11 games. Both of the Wildcats' wins this season have come at home – a 61-60 victory over Chestnut Hill on Dec. 4 and a 61-52 win over Washington Adventist on Dec. 6.

Last Year's Meetings Against Wilmington
The Lightning swept the season series over the Wildcats last year, winning by a 66-37 margin at the Jones Center following a 59-42 victory at Wilmington. Senior guard Irene Hudson led the Lightning to the victory at Wilmington by scoring a game-high 15 points along with eight rebounds while senior forward Akilah Sewell added 12 points with five rebounds and three blocked shots. In the Lightning's home victory over the Wildcats, senior guard Devonne Richardson posted a “double double” with 15 points and 10 rebounds to lead Goldey-Beacom while Hudson contributed 10 points off the bench.

Series Business: Wilmington
Since the start of the 2002-03 season, the Lightning and the Wildcats have met 20 times in a series that Goldey-Beacom leads by a 13-7 margin. After sweeping the season series over the Wildcats last year, the Lightning have won the last six meetings against their local rivals. The six-game win streak by the Lightning comes after Wilmington earned four straight victories during the 2007-08 and 2008-09 seasons. There have been two overtime games during the last 10 seasons with Goldey-Beacom winning both of those contests. The two teams will meet again on Jan. 8 at the Joseph West Jones College Center.

Too Close for Comfort
Of the Lightning's six victories this season, five of them have been decided by seven points or less. In addition, the Lightning have won two of their games this year with a field goal in the closing seconds of regulation. On Nov. 12, senior guard Jacinda Jones gave Goldey-Beacom a 67-66 victory at Kutztown with a field goal with two seconds remaining. Senior guard Devonne Richardson scored on a lay-up with 5.8 seconds left in regulation on Saturday afternoon to break a 53-53 tie against Caldwell.

High Five for Richardson
After posting a season high with 16 rebounds in the Lightning's 55-53 win over Caldwell on Saturday afternoon, senior guard Devonne Richardson has posted 10 or more rebounds in each of her last five games. During the last five games, the Baltimore, Md. native has averaged 12.4 rebounds per outing with three “double double” performances. In addition, she has moved into second place on the Lightning's all-time list with 957 career rebounds. Entering Monday's game against the Wildcats, Richardson ranks fourth in the CACC in rebounding and is the only player in the conference who is averaging a “double double” per game.

Another Quest for 1,000 for Richardson
Senior guard Devonne Richardson has the opportunity to become the second player in school history to record 1,000 career rebounds this season. After posting a season-high 16 rebounds in the Lightning's win on Saturday afternoon, the Baltimore, Md. native ranks second in school history with 957 career rebounds and needs 86 rebounds to become the school's all-time leader. With 112 rebounds in 11 games this season, Richardson ranks fourth in the CACC with a 10.2 average.
