WILMINGTON, Del. – Freshman midfielder Sarina Soriano (Archbishop Mitty H.S./San Jose, Calif.) recorded the first multi-goal effort of her college career by scoring two goals as Caldwell College (10-3-0, 7-1-0) earned its 10th win in the last 11 matches with a 5-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over Goldey-Beacom College (3-11-0, 1-9-0) at the Lightning's Nancy Churchman-Sawin Field on Saturday afternoon.

Led by Soriano, the Cougars tallied a season-high five goals en route to handing Goldey-Beacom its third consecutive loss.

Sophomore Ashlee Paknis (Pinelands Regional H.S./Little Egg Harbor, N.J.) gave the Cougars a quick 1-0 lead in the eighth minute when she scored her fourth goal of the season off an assist from junior midfielder Rebecca Nadeau (Pinelands Regional H.S./Little Egg Harbor, N.J.).

Less than six minutes later, Soriano upped the Caldwell advantage to 2-0 when she tallied her third goal of the season after receiving a pass from sophomore defender Lauren Iuliucci (Delsea H.S./Franklinville, N.J.).

In the 51st minute, junior forward Julie Crankshaw (Lacey H.S./Lanoka Harbor, N.J.) extended the margin to 3-0 with her team-high eighth goal of the year off an assist from sophomore Megan Ferrera (Clifton H.S./Clifton, N.J.) before Soriano added her second goal less than three minutes later for a 4-0 advantage.

With 23:49 remaining, freshman forward Lisa Rovatsos (Bayonne H.S./Bayonne, N.J.) scored off an assist from sophomore midfielder Emily Boehler (Red Bank Regional H.S./Shrewsbury, N.J.) for her second goal of the season.

While Soriano led the Cougars to the victory, senior goalkeeper Kristina Cabales (East Islip H.S./Islip Terrace, N.Y.) made one save in 69 minutes before being replaced by sophomore Robin Franchi (Deptford H.S./Sewell, N.J.), who did not have to record a save.

One of five seniors playing in their final home match, goalkeeper Alyssa Vetrano (Shore Regional H.S./Ocean, N.J.) made six saves in a losing effort for the Lightning, who have been held without a goal for the last three matches.

The Cougars outshot the Lightning by a 25-7 margin and held an 8-3 advantage in corner kicks.

The Lightning will begin a season-ending two-match road trip on Wednesday afternoon when they travel to Georgian Court University for a CACC match against the Lions. Meanwhile, the Cougars will host Felician College on Wednesday afternoon.
