WILMINGTON, Del. – Junior outside hitter Alexandra DePalma (Governor Mifflin H.S./Shillington, Pa.) recorded a season-high 16 kills and contributed 10 digs as Chestnut Hill College (7-14, 3-7) overcame a one-set deficit to earn a four-set Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over Goldey-Beacom College (4-14, 0-10) at the Lightning's Joseph West Jones College Center on Thursday evening.

The Griffins, who ended a six-match losing streak, earned the win by set scores of 19-25, 28-26, 25-15 and 26-24. It also allowed Chestnut Hill to sweep the season series against the Lightning after a four-set victory on Sept. 19.

The Griffins' leading hitter, DePalma also contributed four blocks while earning her fifth “double double” of the season. Meanwhile, senior setter Courtney Gallo (Ursuline Academy/Wilmington, Del.) posted her first “double double” of the season after recording a match-high 34 assists with 10 digs.

Freshman Rachel Biro (Nazareth Area H.S./Nazareth, Pa.) added 15 kills and a .265 hitting percentage for the Griffins while freshman libero Meghan Chiovitti (Holy Family H.S./Brighton, Colo.) added 17 digs as Chestnut Hill matched a season high with 77 digs.

Sophomore outside hitter Kadi McCoy (Dallastown H.S./Dallastown, Pa.) led the Lightning in the loss by posting her fifth “double double” of the season. She had a career-high 23 kills, including the 500th of her college career, while adding a season-high 22 digs.

McCoy also became the seventh player in school history to reach the 500-kill mark and moved into seventh place on the Lightning's all-time list, passing Roni Shaner, who had 483 kills in her career.

Meanwhile, freshman setter Jamika Townsend (King's Fork H.S./Suffolk, Va.) tallied her fourth “double double” of the season with 18 assists and 11 digs. She also matched her season high by tallying six kills against the Griffins.

Sophomore outside hitter Taylor Moyer (Blue Mountain H.S./Schuylkill Haven, Pa.) tallied 10 kills and had a season-high five blocks as the Lightning set a season high with 11.0 team blocks.

The Lightning will remain at the Jones Center to host Caldwell College on Saturday afternoon in the team's annual Homecoming match at 1 p.m. Meanwhile, the Griffins will continue their three-match road trip by visiting Post University on Saturday at 1 p.m.
