Devonne Richardson racked up 10 of her career-high 27 points during a timely 20-5 run over the final 9:23 of the ballgame as Goldey-Beacom College pulled away from Post University at the Drubner Center, 75-59, for its third victory in five days.
Richardson - who shot 9-for-14 from the field and 9-of-10 from the line in bettering her previous best of 25 points her freshman year - added 10 rebounds to the stat page as the Lightning battled back from a 39-35 halftime deficit to prevail. It was 41-35 just 20 seconds into the final period when the visitors embarked on a 14-2 run to move in front, 49-43 at the 13:21 mark. Junior forward

Akilah Sewell added six points in the flurry en route to a 10-point, nine-rebound afternoon. Goldey-Beacom (13-6, 8-4 CACC) was the superior shooting team (50%-29%), including a massive 62%-23% differential in the second half, doubling Post 40-20 in scoring after the break. The Lightning flexed its collective muscle in the paint, 48-12, and dominated the glass, 48-35, to overcome 1-of-6 shooting from beyond the arc and an 18-12 disparity in made free throws. Junior forward Aubrey Latham paced the Eagles (4-14, 2-9) with 19 points in a losing cause.
Goldey-Beacom opens a three-game home stand at the Jones Center on Saturday, February 4 against Bloomfield College. Game time is 1:00 pm.
