PHILADELPHIA - Megan Tole's first goal of the season in the 36th minute was the difference in Thurs. afternoon's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference women's soccer grudge match at Tiger Field, won 1-0 by Holy Family University over Goldey-Beacom College.

The Lightning (4-4, 3-3 CACC) were out-shot 15-8 for the day and the Tigers took five corner kicks to GBC's one. Senior goalkeeper Kristin Degenhardt played the full 90 minutes in goal and made six saves to keep the Lightning in striking distance, but GBC could not manage to score the equalizer.

Freshman Alex Smith, who entered the game leading the nation in scoring for the second straight week, was held scoreless for the first time in six games. She and senior Karin Eriksson shared the team-high with two shots, both of Eriksson's were on goal.

Dawn Curry and Kimberly Kisselback led HFU (5-6, 3-4 CACC) offensively as the Tigers ended their two-game losing streak. Goalkeeper Rachel Dunkle made three saves to preserve the shutout, her third of the season.

The Lightning, who are 3-1 at home (3-0 at Nancy Churchman-Sawin Field), are just 1-3 on the road this season.

GBC is back in action on Sat. as the Lightning host CACC foe Post University at 12 p.m. as part of the school's Homecoming Celebration.
